The Portrait Commission Process

At Rachel Braybon Art, I want to see your vision come to life to decorate your white walls.

Here’s how I work:

Step 1: Initial Consultation

The journey begins with a conversation. Contact me at chuck.rach@bigpond.com or via socials. I’m keen to hear your ideas, answer your questions, and discuss the possibilities for your custom painting.

Step 2: Conceptualisation

Time to iron out details: based on a reference photo (preferable high resolution) we confirm size, framing, colour way, style, background, picture details.

Step 3: Proposal

Once I understand your vision, I will provide you a quotation and timeframe.

Step 4: The fun begins

Once you give me the green light to proceed, I undertake the commission and can consult with you as you feel comfortable. Some people like the surprise of the finished product, others wish to be kept up to date at different stages of the creative process. I always reach out if questions arise during the painting.

Step 5: Final Approval

Before pick up/delivery, you will be invited for a final review of the completed painting. This is your opportunity to see your vision fully realised and provide any last thoughts.

Step 6: Payment and Delivery

If you are happy with the final product, it is yours following payment. It will be ready to hang (and framed if this was in your proposal.)
